Fishing on Georgetown Lake has been excellent. We have a few calibaetis in the morning, terrestrials and damselflies during the day, and there are still a few traveling sedges out in the evening.
Here are a few tips for fly fishing Georgetown Lake:
1. Target the damselfly hatch starting around 10am, depening on conditions.
2. Try a damsel nymph with a larger chironomid under an indicator.
3. Cover water and be methodical and you'll catch fish!
Here are a few fly suggestions:
1. Calibaetis spinner
2. Damselfly nymph
3. Damselfly dry
4. Olive balance leech
5. Callibaetis nymph
6. Sparkle minnow, sculpin, size 10
Looking ahead:
Georgetown Lake will be great for the rest of summer. Fishing morning-early afternoon will be best.
